Best bot commands in CS2

Bots are a very useful tool in Counter-Strike 2. With their help, you can practice a variety of in-game situations. The CS.MONEY Blog shares the best console commands for bot training in CS2.

After a successful practice session, head to a server to play against real people, but don’t forget to surprise them with a cool skin. Where can you get such a skin at a low price? Of course, on CS.MONEY!

How to add bots in CS2?

 Before you start training with bots, let’s go over the first and most important steps.
First, you need to enable the console in the game settings. If you haven’t done this yet:

  • Launch the game;
  • Go to settings;
  • Then to the “Game” tab;
  • Find the “Enable Developer Console (~)” option;
  • Set it to “Yes.”

Secondly, it’s best to use bots in training mode. You can access it from the main game menu. There, you can also select a map and set a few options in advance from the list on the left.

Once the map loads, immediately enter sv_cheats 1 in the console. After that, you can add bots if they are not present. The commands for this are:

  • bot_add_ct – adds a bot to the Counter-Terrorist team;
  • bot_add_t – adds a bot to the Terrorist team;
  • bot_add – adds a bot, and it will automatically be assigned to one of the two teams.

To have bots only in one team, for example, for a 1v5 bot match, use the command mp_autoteambalance 0. With this command, bots won’t switch teams to balance them.

How to kick all bots in CS2?

 If bots are not needed, you can kick all of them with just one command: bot_kick. After using this command, all bots will be removed from the game. If a specific bot is interfering, you can kill it with the command bot_kill <bot_name> or eliminate all bots from a particular team with bot_kill t and bot_kill ct for the Terrorist and Counter-Terrorist teams, respectively.

How to control bots in CS2?

You can adjust and control bot behavior. For example, you can make them stand still or play only with pistols. To manage bots in CS2, use the following console commands:

  • bot_difficulty 0/1/2/3 – the higher the value, the better the bots play;
  • mp_free_armor 2 – all bots have armor and helmets;
  • mp_free_armor 1; mp_max_armor 1 – bots have body armor but no helmet;
  • bot_crouch 0/1 – makes the bot crouch;
  • bot_all_weapons – allows bots to use any weapon;
  • bot_knives_only 0/1, bot_pistols_only 0/1, bot_snipers_only 0/1 – restricts bots to knives, pistols, or sniper rifles, respectively;
  • bot_stop 0/1 – completely stops the bots from moving, shooting, or performing any actions;
  • bot_place – places a bot in front of the player;
  • bot_dont_shoot 0/1 – prevents bots from shooting.

With these commands, you can practice shooting with bots, learn wallbang spots, grenade lineups, and much more.

In addition to bots, CS2 Workshop maps are also useful for training. With them, you can practice aiming and recoil control. The good news is that we’ve already explored the Workshop and selected the best options for you, even creating a CS2 shooting practice guide. Be sure to check it out!
